Data necessary for the performance of a contract is kept for the duration of the contractual relationship. It may also be kept: - for a period of 3 years from the last contact that the persons to whom it relates have had with the organization (e.g., in the case of customers, a purchase or an order), after the contract has been fulfilled, for intermediate archiving, if the data controller has a legal obligation to do so (for example, to meet accounting or tax obligations) or if it wishes to establish proof in the event of litigation, and within the limit of the applicable statute of limitations
