Statistical and actuarial studies
All contracts are underwritten in accordance with an underwriting policy defined by the administrative and management bodies of each insurance company. These rules are laid down by the Solvency 2 Directive of November 25, 2009 and its delegated regulation of October 10, 2014. In particular, these prudential obligations are set out in Articles 48 (actua- rial function), 77, 84 and 12119. For example, Article 84 stipulates that, at the request of the supervisory authorities, insurance and reinsurance undertakings shall demonstrate the appropriateness of the level of their technical provisions, as well as the applicability and relevance of the methods they apply and the adequacy of the underlying statistical data they use.Statistical and actuarial studies must be carried out to comply with these prudential obligations in order to justify that the contractual commitments of insurers' bodies are compatible with their solvency.
